FAQ

How do I get to Taormina?

Flying into Catania (CTA)

The nearest airport to Taormina is Catania–Fontanarossa (CTA), about an hour away by road. Flights from the UK take roughly 3 hours 20 minutes.

From London
  • Direct flights from Gatwick, Stansted, and Luton with easyJet, Ryanair, and British Airways.
From Manchester
  • Direct flights with Jet2 and easyJet.
From Birmingham
  • Direct flights with Jet2, flying Wednesdays and Saturdays.

From Catania Airport to Taormina (~60–70 km)

  • Taxi / Private Transfer - About 1 hour door-to-door.
Let us know when you’ve booked your flights and, if you like, we can try to match you with someone on the same flight to share a transfer.
  • Hire a Car - All major rental companies operate from the airport. The drive takes about an hour via the A18 motorway. Parking in the old town is limited, but large car parks like Lumbi and Porta Catania have shuttles or escalators into the centre. Best to ensure your accomodation has parking.
  • Direct Airport Bus (Interbus / Etna Trasporti) - Runs regularly from outside the terminal. Journey time about 1h 15–30m. Tickets available online or at the airport.
  • Train (Trenitalia) - Take a short shuttle or taxi to Catania Centrale, then a ~50 minute train to Taormina-Giardini. From there, it’s a quick taxi or local bus ride up into town.

Flying into Palermo (PMO)

If you’re making a longer trip and want to explore more of Sicily, you could also fly into Palermo Airport (PMO).

  • Direct flights from London and Manchester with airlines such as Ryanair and easyJet.
  • Palermo is roughly 3 hours from Taormina by car - a good option if you’d like to see Palermo, Cefalù, or Sicily’s west coast as part of your trip.
  • To reach Taormina from Palermo, you can drive, take a long-distance bus, or use the train.
Where should we stay?

Where should we stay?

Both our ceremony at Chiesa di San Giuseppe and our reception at Villa Mon Repos are in Taormina. Staying in or near the town makes getting around simple, with plenty of lovely options from classic hotels to villas and apartments.

Villas & Apartments — There are many excellent options on Airbnb and Booking.com. If you’re looking for a larger villa with a pool, you’ll also find fantastic choices in the surrounding areas of Taormina — perfect for groups or a more private stay. In the historic centre, look for locations near Porta Catania or Porta Messina (the main town gates) to keep walks shorter. Do check access details (stairs, lifts) and ask hosts about luggage drop-off or taxi access.

Practical tips: Parking in the old town is limited, but large car parks (Lumbi and Porta Catania) have shuttles/escalators into the centre. Taxis are easy to arrange if you’d prefer to avoid the hills, and we’ll share event-day transport details on the site.

What is the dress code for the wedding?

What is the dress code for the wedding?

The dress code is Black Tie Optional. The wedding party will be in black tie, and we'd love our guests to embrace the occasion by joining us in black tie or other elegant evening attire. For gentlemen, a tuxedo, dinner jacket, or smart suit; and for ladies, a formal dress is perfect

Can I bring my children?

Can I bring my children?

We love your little ones, but our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. We hope this gives you the chance to relax, enjoy the evening, and celebrate with us without distractions.

Can I bring a plus one?

How do we get to the Church/Venue?

How do we get to the church/venue?

Chiesa di Santa Caterina d'Alessandria is centrally located on Taormina’s main high street. We recommend booking a taxi in advance to get into town in good time for the ceremony. After the service, we’ll have a minibus ready to take guests to the Villa for the reception, so you can simply relax and enjoy the day.

What time should guests arrive at the ceremony?

What time should guests arrive at the ceremony?

The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30 PM local time. We kindly ask guests to arrive no later than 4:00 PM so there’s plenty of time to get settled, greet friends, and be seated before the ceremony begins.

How do we get back to our accommodation at the end of the evening?

How do we get back at the end of the evening?

You can ask the Villa Mon Repos staff to arrange a taxi to collect you at the end of the night. Taormina is very hilly, so for everyone’s safety we recommend taking a taxi rather than walking back - especially after a full day of celebrating.

What should I do if I have dietary restrictions?

What should I do if I have dietary restrictions?

Please indicate any dietary needs on your RSVP form - there’s a section for this. If there’s anything you’d like to discuss in more detail, feel free to reach out to us directly at hello@jadeandjosh.com.

Can we give you a gift?

Your presence is the greatest gift

Your presence on our wedding day is the greatest gift we could possibly ask for. Sharing this special moment with our friends and family is what matters most to us.

If you do wish to honour us with a gift, a contribution towards our honeymoon would be a wonderful way to help us celebrate our first trip as a married couple.
